Gorzów Wielkopolski, 30th May 2008 - On 30th May 2008, the company TPV Displays Polska Sp. z o.o. (a subsidiary of the TPV Technology Group) inaugurates its new production plant for TV sets and LCD monitors in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Złotego Smoka str. no. 9. Detailed analysis and long negotiations with local authorities, the special economic area of Kostrzyń and Słubice, the PAIiIZ (Polish Agency for Information and Foreign Investments) and the Minister of Economic Affairs preceded the decision to setup production in Poland; as a consequence the newly founded company purchased an investment estate with an area of 82.46 acres in Gorzów Wielkopolski on the 25th May 2007 together with the permission to transact business in the economic area.

Construction works started in September 2007 and ran at such an impressive pace that the company was granted the occupancy permit for the production hall as early as on 11th February 2008; and shortly afterwards, on 12th March, the entire building object could be handed over for productive utilization. The most important products will be TV sets and LCD monitors with diameters from 19” to 42”.

This investment with a volume of more than 40 million Euros is a special step towards changing the leadership on the European high-tech market. The business magazine Forbes calls the TPV investments the event of the year 2007 for the Lubuskie province, it forms a basis for the installation of a technological campus which the company intends to use in order to exploit the increasing demand in LCD TV sets and monitor screens as well as the buying power of European customers.

By producing on request by order of renowned brands, TPV has become the worldwide largest manufacturer of LCD monitors in the recent years (fifth in the category ‘production of LCD TV sets’ amongst the worldwide largest manufacturers).

By the end of 2008 the production capacity of the Gorzów plant shall reach the level of 4- 5 million units per year with an option for growth in the following years. So far, already three technological lines have been put into operation with production capacities of one million units each. And the number of employees amounts to 700 persons. By the end of this year it is expected to rise to 1,800 persons.

This investment is also regarded as an impulse for the economy in the region. Local service providers and production companies already notice an increased demand for their services.
