Environmentally-friendly and brilliant: The new LED flatscreens from AOC
Berlin, 26 November 2009 – Global brand display leader AOC presents four innovative LED flatscreens with energy-saving White LED backlighting. Available in contemporary 16:9 format, these displays cater to both environmentally-conscious professionals and home users who want to combine the latest in display technology with stylish design. Behind their piano-black exterior lies innovative green technology. Equipped with a multitude of connection options, these models have retained the sleek design of the successful 36 series.
The new White LED (WLED) models avail of environmentally-friendly backlight technology, acknowledged by experts as playing a central role in the future of displays. Compared to conventional products, they are terrific energy-savers, without compromising on quality. The brightness value of 250cd/m² together with the ultra high dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 (DCR) renders brilliant, razor-sharp imaging. A five-step menu (Dynamic Colour Boost) ensures colours are always natural, and users can also chose to emphasise specific areas of the screen. Even in dimly-lit film scenes, the viewer retains a clear perception of depth and three-dimensionality. Because of the super quick 5 millisecond response time (grey/grey), production remains both distortion and blur free in fast-moving action scenes.
Three sizes in 16:9 format
A choice of three Windows 7-compatible screen sizes are available: the 47cm (18.5”) E936Swa, the 54.6cm (21.5”) E2236Swa and E2236Vwa, and the 60cm (23.6”) E2436Vwa. Film buffs will appreciate the 16:9 Widescreen format which reproduces blockbusters in their original cinematic glory without sacrificing quality brought about by picture conversion.
Easy operation
AOC offers two options for convenient parameters setting: the screen menu can be accessed via the stylish Navi-Touch buttons attached to the side of the screen, or via the i-Menu. AOC’s i-Menu software allows the entire display function range to be controlled on the desktop with your mouse.
Low energy consumption
International organisation EPEAT recognises the displays’ reduced energy consumption of a maximum of 20 to 30 Watts, and has bestowed them with their highest award (“Gold”). Furthermore, the models fulfil the latest and most stringent requirements (5.0) of the internationally-renowned American environmental authority, the EPA.
A power saving of up to 50% is possible when the energy-saving mode is activated, and with the timing function, users can programme when a display should switch itself off (after 1-24 hours).
Connectivity
The E2236Vwa and E2436Vwa models are built with an analogue D-Sub and digital DVI input with HDCP. USB sticks, hard disks or digital cameras can be easily connected through the integrated USB 2.0 port.
